For years, Dupont Circle merchants faced a lack of city services, crime, aggressive panhandling, and a decline in the condition of the area’s streets and sidewalks. In 1992, to address these issues, local business owners organized the Dupont Circle Merchants and Professionals Association (DC MAP) and soon things began to change.

DC MAP works to revitalize the Dupont Circle commercial areas and make it an attractive community in which business can thrive. Our diverse membership represents the vibrant, dynamic Dupont Circle community in which the organization operates.

Members range from retail stores, service providers, galleries and restaurants to property owners and professionals who have a wide variety of interests but work together to achieve common goals. The organization has become an important advocate for area businesses.
